Sunken Forest Hand Embellished Canvas Reproduction
The painting depicts a soft sunset on the Oregon coast in Neskowin. Remnants of long dead trees stand firmly in the surf, their roots clinging fast to their old glory. Once 200 feet tall, the forest stood strong, until a great quake dropped the land they were standing on, swiftly into the sea. Shocked by the event, the trees died suddenly and are now left to the mercy of the waves. Known locally as the ghost forest, the trees are eerie even when lit up beautifully by the light of sunset. Proposal rock stands in the distance, an indicator of where the trees once stood, and how much land was taken so quickly away.
