The original oil painting, 60 x 48 entitled Perpetua Waves, was painted by Eryn Tehan in the city of Portland, Oregon, in July 2019.
Violent waves crash into a long crevice known as Devil's Churn at Cape Perpetua. As the sun sets, the clouds part briefly, allowing the sun's rays to break through, and touch the cove. The faint light illuminates the mist from crashing waves in golden tones, turning the sea bright green and making the cliffside moss glow in vibrant shades of green. The sight is a spectacular display of power, beauty of the ocean.
