The original oil painting, 24 x30 entitled La Jolla Cove Blooms, was painted in the city of Portland, Oregon USA, in February 2020 after a recent trip to California.
Winter aloe blooms coat the cliffs above La Jolla Cove in San Diego, CA, their bright red, yellow and orange petals popping against a turquoise sea. A rough surf and high winds cast rip curl after curl, as the wave crash abruptly on a shallow shore.  A soft sunset drapes soft, pastel light on the horizon, the cliffs and palm trees catching the warm light of the sun.
