EASTERN OREGON SERIES

Though I only recently started exploring Eastern Oregon in the past 10 years, it holds fond childhood memories for my fiance. He graciously shared these memories with me in the first year we were together. The place where his Grandparents lived, he grew up frequenting Black Butte Ranch during summers and holidays.

As we built our lives over the last 10 years, Eastern Oregon has become very special to the both of us. At the Ranch, we enjoyed holidays, and watched as two family weddings take place, two new second cousins came into the world, and sadly, experienced the passing on of a family member. We have watched this place grow and change with the years. Through love and loss and new beginnings, Black Butte Ranch and Sisters, Oregon are his family anchor.

Exploring the rest of Eastern Oregon was something we did together. We made memories over campfires at Sparks Lake, chased waterfalls on the McKenzie River, enjoyed the dramatic sunsets at Smith Rock, stared in awe at the sea of lava at the Dee Wright Observatory, and bravely hiked the 3 Sisters Wilderness.

I have been very grateful to how Eastern Oregon has inspired the both of us. It has offered and given so much and I plan on documenting the rest of our memories in the form of art.
